Happy Friday!

With fall setting in we all find a little more time to work on our projects it seems… what better than a few more new products to get the ideas flowing for the weekend:

First off we have the Drawdio – this is way too much fun! One person, who shall remain nameless, has not stopped using hers since they arrived earlier this week…! Basically it is a musical synthesizing pencil that uses the conductive properties of graphite to generate different tones as you write. It is a great project with basic through hole components and is ideal for anyone learning to solder.
If you are tired of standard non-musical pencils – be sure to check this one out!

Next we have another new version of the Adafruit Motor Shield – this shield is now at version 2.3 which is a completely stackable design. The board can handle up to 1.2A per channel and only requires two pins(I2C) to drive multiple motors. It ships mostly assembled and includes standard break-away headers but we do recommend picking up a set of Shield Stacking Headers if you plan to use this in conjunction with other shields.

Finally, we have a new power management board for the Arduino this week – The Adafruit PowerBoost 500 Shield. This board is basically a shield version of the Adafruit PowerBoost 500 and works great with our LiPo batteries. When plugged in the shield will power the Arduino and keep the battery topped; if the shield loses external power, it will immediately switch to battery power until the power is restored or the battery runs out!

As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact us – Have a great weekend!
