Makerspace Nanaimo – Grand Opening
Just a BIG reminder for anyone in the central Vancouver Island area – this Saturday is the Grand Opening for Makerspace Nanaimo! The event begins at 12:00 with burgers and hotdogs (with vegetarian options available) by donation. Many of the members will have their projects on display including a vintage computer, homemade CNC router, hand made guitars and at least one drone! We will have a few of our very own Raspberry Pi with accessories, OpenROV (in pieces), and a few other toys from around the shop on display as well.
At 1:00 we will be having the official ribbon cutting followed by guided tours of the shop provided by the members. Throughout the afternoon there will be draws for prizes and a few guest speakers. For those interested in becoming members we will have people on hand to assist with that process!
