Arduino Day 2015

Saturday March 28th is Arduino day so we have decided to move our upcoming Arduino night from this coming Wednesday to coincide with this worldwide event. We will be beginning at 1:00 PM on Saturday, and running through to 3:00 PM. Please feel free to bring in your project, questions, or demonstrations!

What is Arduino Day?

Arduino Day is a worldwide celebration of Arduinoā€™s birthday. People interested in Arduino get together, share their experiences, and learn more. They share projects that they are working on, solve problems together, and discuss Arduino.

Where is this event located?
Arduino day will be hosted at Makerspace Nanaimo. Makerspace Nanaimo is a membership based community workshop located at 2221 McGarrigle Road.

What does it cost?
There is no cost associated with this event. Please feel free to make a donation to Makerspace Nanaimo to ensure events like this have a home in the future.

What is an Arduino and is this event for me?
Arduino is a family of microcontrollers. Microcontrollers are small “computers” that can be programmed to perform various tasks. These small computers are typically what you would find embedded inside of anything from a programmable thermostat to a robot floor cleaner. The tasks can be anything from switching on a light when it gets dark to extremely complex sensor based navigation systems. Arduino makes building smart embedded devices something that anyone can do – so if you are curious about learning more about this or you want to take the first steps towards building your very own smart embedded devices come check it out!
