Makerspace Spotlight

It seems like we are asked on a daily basis if we know of any Makerspace near *somewhere*. It got us thinking around the office – perhaps we should write a little blurb every week about a Makerspace and help spread the word! This week we will be starting with Vancouver Hack Space (or very cleverly shortened to “VHS”)

Wait wait wait… I am interested… but what is a Makerspace?

A Makerspace (or Hackerspace) is a community space / workshop for people to share tools, knowledge, and resources together. Often these groups are member based societies that use the collective resources of the group to be able to afford a warehouse or shop space and the tools and equipment to fill it. From here we will direct you to Wikipedia if you would like to learn more :).

Anyways we will start off with a short hop over to the mainland, in Vancouver.
