Canada Post Update

As many of you may know: there is the possibility of a Canada Post Strike / Lockout as early as Thursday this week. At this time, 72 hour strike notice has not been filed, meaning we are at least 72 hours away from any possible job action. We are keeping a very close eye on the situation to minimize any issues with shipments.

So how does this affect you?

Well that sort of depends where you are located relative to us. All shipments originate in Nanaimo BC, so if you are located in the Lower Mainland / Vancouver Island / Fraser Valley and are not in an extremely remote location, you donā€™t really have much to worry about. Any order placed using Standard Shipping before a 72 hour strike notice is issued, should arrive on time. However, if you are concerned, we do recommend choosing the XpressPost shipping option as this typically arrives the next business day.

For the remainder of Canada we do recommend choosing our XpressPost option. Typically these will be delivered within 3 business days. For any urban / suburban area, they should arrive on time without issue. Again, if you are concerned, please contact us and we will see what we can do to help. If you do choose Standard Shipping, we arenā€™t saying it will not arrive, but IF a strike notice is issued and there is job action, there may be delays in delivery.

International orders may also be affected. For any questions on shipping to specific countries and how any possible job action may delay shipments, please contact us.

It is also important to remember that a strike does not mean a complete shutdown of Canada Post, but it does mean there will likely be delays. In the past, strikes meant rotating job action in different regions on different days and lead to a few days of delivery delays in most cases. However, In the event the 72 hour strike notice is issued we will be in touch with every customer with an order that has not shipped. We will do our best to provide additional options in cases where they are needed. If you would like to avoid all of the Canada Post issues, and have a courier account with FedEx, DHL, Purolator, or UPS; we can ship out on your account as well.
