Description
A diode is a simple circuit component that basically restricts current flow in one direction. Diodes are often used for reverse polarity protection (to prevent damage to circuits when a battery or power supply is plugged in backwards), to protect circuits against back EMF (high voltages created by inductive loads such as motors, solenoids, or relays), or basic rectification (creating DC from AC)
This diode is rated to 1A and 1000V. As with most standard diodes, it will have a ~0.7V drop in voltage when used.
