This inertial-measurement-unit (IMU) combines 3 of the best sensors available to give you 3 axes of accelerometer data, 3 axes gyroscopic, 3 axes magnetic (compass), barometric pressure/altitude and temperature.

Since all of the sensors use I2C you can communicate with each of them using only two wires. Most will be pretty happy with just the plain I2C interfacing, but Adafruit has also broken out all of the 'data ready' and 'interrupt' pins so advanced users can interface with if they choose. The board also has built in level shifting so it is compatible with both 3.3V and 5V systems.

• L3GD20 Gyro: ±250, ±500, or ±2000 degree-per-second
• BMP180: -40 to 85 °C, 300 – 1100hPa range, 0.17m resolution

• LSM303 Compass: ±1.3 to ±8.1 gauss
• LSM303 Accelerometer: ±2g/±4g/±8g/±16g
