Description
The Adafruit Pro Trinket is everything to love about the original Trinket, stepped up another notch! Rather than using the ATtiny85, this version of the Trinket uses the full blown ATmega328 chipset from the Arduino Uno and is compatible with about 95% of the Arduino’s functionality.
Because they are using the ATmega328 chip, the Pro Trinket has 18 GPIO pins, two additional analog inputs, 28K of flash memory, and 2K of RAM. This specific version runs with 5V logic and 16MHz.
Programming the Pro Trinket can be done using a standard USB micro cable or with an FTDI cable due to the added Optiboot support. Just fire up the Arduino IDE, download the Adafruit Trinket library, and select it as the target board.
Please Note: Due to the way the Pro Trinket is programmed over USB, pins 2 and 7 from the ATmega328 are not available for general use.
