The ADXL345 is a small, thin, low-power, 3-axis digital accelerometer that provides measurements of acceleration in the X, Y, and Z axes. It is commonly used in various applications such as motion detection, orientation sensing, gesture recognition, and vibration monitoring. The sensor features selectable measurement ranges of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g with a resolution of up to 13 bits. Unlike the ADXL335, the ADXL345 communicates digitally over either I²C or SPI, eliminating the need for analog-to-digital conversion. The device operates from a 2.0–3.6V supply, and many breakout boards include voltage regulation and level shifting to allow compatibility with both 3.3V and 5V systems.
