Description

Removing SMD parts or large through hole components can be a real challenge without the right supplies! The Chip Quick REMKIT will make this as easy as possible. The kit includes special low temperature removal solder, flux, and cleaning pads. This low temperature solder will stay molten at a much lower temperature – giving you plenty of time to get heat onto all of the legs of the component you wish to remove. This version has a leaded alloy, best for use with lead-based solder.

Removal:

1. Apply flux to all leads.
2. Melt CHIP QUIK® uniformly on all pins.
3. Maintain alloy in molten state long enough to release chip.
4. Lift chip from board with dental pick or vacuum pen.

 
Clean up:

1. While molten, use cotton swab and flux to move excess to an unused section of board.
2. While applying heat, polish each pad with a swab and flux until thoroughly clean.
3. At room temperature, clean residue with alcohol pad.
4. You are now ready to install the new chip
