Description
An EEPROM is an Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory chip. EEPROMs are a great way to store information or configuration settings in a microcontroller based project where typically any collected or configured data will be lost as soon as power is removed or the microcontroller is reset. Anything stored on this EEPROM will not be lost when power is disconnected; it will remain until a command is sent to either overwrite or erase the data is sent.
This specific EEPROM works using the I2C bus and operates between 2.5 – 5.5VDC with a maximum clock speed of 400kHz. There are 3 address pins meaning up to 8 of these chips can be used on a single I2C bus.
