Description
Description
A fun way to make a small LED display is using an 8×8 matrix. Matrices like these are 'multiplexed' – so to control 64 LEDs you typically would need 16 pins. That's where this backpack comes in; the onboard chip does all the heavy lifting and only requires input using I2C, meaning up to 4 of these displays can be connected to a single I2C bus. This board uses I2C 7-bit addresses between 0x70-0x77, selectable with solder jumpers.
This product includes the backpack, 8×8 LED matrix, and 0.1″ header pins.
