Description
Modern cars have a wealth of information available over the OBD port – typically this port is located under the dash of the vehicle and is used to diagnose faults and reset service reminders. Depending on the age and make of the vehicle, this can range from simple data like RPM and Speed, to intricate details of engine management, alarm status, and a whole lot more! All of this extra data can be very useful when building automotive projects.
You will need a little more than just the cable to start playing around with the data in your car; this cable is designed to be plugged into the SparkFun CANBUS Shield for Arduino or the OBDII-UART Breakout Board.
