Description
Network cable is everywhere these days; in addition to standard networking uses, the 8 conductors in network cable make it a great solution for connecting multiple sensors or modular sections of a project in a compact single cable. The RJ45 plug on each end is also durable and compact.
This specific part is a basic RJ45 connector and will accept any standard Cat5 or Cat6 Ethernet cable with an RJ45 plug. The connector is PCB mount and requires two rows of 0.100″ pitch holes offset by 0.050″. These are not breadboard compatible but we do have an assembled breadboard compatible breakout board available here. For those of you using Eagle to design your own circuit boards the footprint “RJ45-NO-SHIELD” in the library “con-tycoelectronics”
