Description
This PCB mount SP3T Slide Switch (Single Pole, Three Position) makes for a great selector switch for applications under 300mA. The switch has four pins, a common pin and three contacts. Depending on the switch position, one of the contacts will be connected to the common pin. The “middle” pin is the common pin, with two contacts on one side and a gap plus another pin on the other side. Since the switch pins are formed to a right angle, this switch has two additional anchor pins to help keep it in place. These are typically soldered to the PCB to provide additional structural strength.
The switch is not directly breadboard or perfboard compatible, but with some creative bending and soldering it could be made to fit a perfboard without too much trouble.
