When working with sensitive components it is always a good idea to have some form of ESD (Electro Static Discharge) protection. Static build up on you or your clothing can discharge onto electronic components when first making contact with them, sometimes permanently damaging them. “Grounding” yourself with an anti-static wrist band is a great way to prevent the discharge from occurring through sensitive components while they are being handled.
