Description
The DS18B20 is a very popular temperature sensor due to its simple wiring, wide temperature range, and accuracy across a wide temperature range. The sensor uses a 1-wire digital protocol and features a unique 64-bit ID burned into each sensor a the factory, meaning multiple sensors can share one digital input pin on a microcontroller / single board computer.
The sensor is fairly precise (±0.5°C over much of the range) and can give up to 12 bits of precision from the onboard digital-to-analog converter. This version is a bare sensor, and should not be directly exposed to the elements, but we do offer a weatherproof/waterproof version as well.
The sensor can operate on voltages between 3.0 and 5.5VDC and is compatible with 3.3 and 5V logic systems. A 4.7K pull-up resistor is required on the data line to keep the data transfer stable and is included with the sensor.
