Happy Pi Day!

Happy Pi Day! Well ā€“ no new Raspberry Pi 4 from the Pi Foundation this year, but we kind of expected that based on interviews over the past month. However, we do have a Raspberry Pi announcement of our own! Just in time for Pi Day (and Spring) we have a brand new Raspberry Pi Add-on Board! The Raspberry Pi Irrigation Board is designed to handle just about anything you could need in a basic garden irrigation system. The board is designed to work with the Raspberry Pi A+, B+, 2, 3, 3A+, and 3B+ and features drivers for 6 inductive loads (solenoids, pumps, relays, ect), a 4 channel 12-bit Analog to Digital Converter, and handy connectors temperature and flow sensors.

Following off our very popular Raspberry Pi Weather HAT, this product will have a corresponding multi-part project tutorial releasing over the coming weeks. The tutorial will cover using the HAT to build a functioning Irrigation Controller with multiple zones, a configurable schedule, configurable run duration, and basic notifications ā€“ the perfect starting point for your own IoT Sprinkler System.

The Assembled version of our Raspberry Pi Irrigation Board is available now and requires no soldering for most applications. For those looking to use their own connectors; a bare-bones version is available for pre-order and will begin shipping in the coming weeks.
