Description
Using a basic DC motor to drive a wheel on a robot can be a bit tricky. Small DC motors tend to have a very high shaft speed, very low torque, and no easy way to connect to a wheel. These all in one TT Right Angle Gearbox Motors take care of everything!
The DC motor is coupled to a 1:48 reduction gearbox in an easy to mount assembly. This variation has the output shaft parallel to the motor, allowing this to be used in situations where a Standard TT Gearmotor wont fit. The output is the same 5.5mm flatted shaft and fits our basic Plastic Wheel + Tire. The āno loadā output shaft speed is approximately 120 RPM at 3V and 250 RPM at 6V. An ideal speed for a small roaming robot!
These motors cannot be directly driven by an Arduino, Raspberry Pi, micro:bit, or other similar microcontroller or single board computer. A motor driver will need to be used ā if you are just getting started, we recommend one of these:
Arduino: Adafruit Motor Shield
BBC micro:bit: SparkFun moto:bit
Raspberry Pi: Adafruit DC / Stepper Motor HAT
Please Note: Wheel sold separately.
